Domestic manufacturing

Working with leather is much easier than we can believe. For centuries, people have made a variety of goods out of leather, such as, straps, shoes, caps, clothing, satchels and other items. Nowadays, leather bags and shoes are readily available and accusable to buy. Leather satchels are fun and easy to make and make great gifts or accessories for everybody. I can offer to readers two ways to make their own leather satchel with different straps. One method of manufacturing doesn't even require any sewing. I lay out the piece of leather flat on the workspace. Then using the ruler, I measure 0, 5 cm from the edge of the leather and begin making a straight line of holes spaced 0,5 cm apart. I pierce holes only on three sides of the leather. Going on the satchel manufacturing I fold the leather in half so that the holes on each side line up properly. Then I run strong thread through the range of holes. I coat the needle and thread with the beeswax to make hand stitching easier. I turn the leather strap right side out. Using the same technique described above, I punch at least eight holes in the open end of the satchel. I use these holes to thread the leather strap through. I insert one end of the leather strap through one of the holes closest to the seam. I go on threading the strap all the way around the top of the satchel. At last I trim the ends of the strap to the desired length. There is the way of making a bag. I lay out the piece of leather flat on the workspace. Using the compass, I mark a large even circle onto the leather and create a round piece of leather cutting it carefully. Them I measure 0, 5 cm from the edge of the leather and start making a line of holes spaced 0,5 cm apart. It is comfortable to use the punch tool to make the holes and then push the thick awl through the holes to make them bigger. So I pierce holes all the way around the circle. I take one end of the leather cord and thread it through one of the holes. Then I go on threading the cord in and out of all of the holes until it is completely threaded around the circle. When the ends of the cord are pulled tight, the leather closes to create a satchel. I also enforce the ends of the cord which make handles by wide leather strap.
